I have been spending more time at www.amychristopher.blogspot.com simply because of convenience. I am very happy that some of you have gone to the adoption website to vote on a name at www.thechristopherfamily.blogspot.com That was nice of you!!!

Lets see, I have caught a cold and hope it will completely disappear. Last night, we went out to a Chinese restaurant (MIchael, me and Peter the brother in law) and then made a stop at Publix for hot chocolate, ice cream and some. NYQUIL. Let me just say the nyquil worked quite well.
At the chinese restuarant, they played songs from 2 Backstreet Boys cds. I am still trying to figure that one out. Also, poor Michael was eating his food, fork in air, when a lady removes his plate and said. Are you done? It was obvious he was not, but whatever..

That was my interesting weekend.....

Thursday 13
Thirteen Things about The Howell-Rushing Wedding

Thursday 13
Thirteen things about the Rushing Howell/Howell-Rushing wedding weekend

1. Jeff and Val were married.
2. It was a beautiful ceremony and reception
3. I saw friends from college that I had not seen in years. Jenny and Steven are another lovely couple. I lived with Jenny one summer and she was also a neighbor for a few years. I have gotten a few my space messages from Kevin and Robyn and I got to meet them. Too much fun!!!! They have not changed. They both made me laugh!!!
4. I had lunch with old college roomies Jenny and LeeAnne before the ceremony
5. I spent the weekend in Jackson, Tn at Sara B’s house and got to play with her puppy
6. I met several Rushing family members who I have been exchanging emails and blogposts with over the past few months. All of which are very cool
7. I had dinner at O’Charleys, my favorite restaurant in college
8. Michael and I had lunch (not really, just visited) with his dad on the way home
9. The weather could not have been any prettier..
10. Jeff and Val looked gorgeous, happy, giddy, in love, etc.
11. I got to talk to Jeff’s grandma who gets online. She is a pretty cool lady
12. My husband and Jenny’s husband enjoyed using the disposable camera on the table
13. We walked around the church, including the nursing wing. We looked at the baby names on the door and realized that many people use city and states for their children’s names.

To summarize, it was a lovely, beautiful, romantic weekend. Truly a good time was had by all!!!!!!! I am blessed and honored to have been invited. See other posts for details regarding the lovely couple who are now honeymooning in Jamaica!
I can not wait for them to get settled in, as they will be living in Atlanta and will be available for socializing.

To anyone who was there, I enjoyed meeting you and hope to see you again sometime!

Wordless Wedneday!

its Halloween

Tuesday, October 31, 2006
its Halloween

The trick or treaters should be arriving in a few hours and I want to guess the popular costumes for the evening. The radio stations have said that superheroes and pirates were going to be number one, but apparently several people dressed up as steve irwin this weekend including the stingray...how insensitive can you be?

I am hoping there are no Wiggles this evening, but I am not sure I will be so lucky. I didnt get Lucy a costume which means she will dressing up for Christmas..Poor Lucy the bassett hound. We shall see.

I have tomorrow off and then Thursday we are working on adoption things like meeting with the social worked and getting our police clearance. All is well.
Uhm, thanks for reading this..

People, please go to The Christopher family and vote on baby names. I put margaret on there because I know MIchael likes it..It can not win. Please help. As much as I would like to cheat and vote myself, I will be brave and strong and will not do that.
On another note, someone (aka Steven) placed a comment that he liked the name Ari. Whats odd is that my friend Yancey will be having a Greek baby Ari on Christmas day!!!! It is a pretty name..

So, if you dont like the name, give us another idea. We have a long wait ahead of us! and vote on baby names. I put margaret on there because I know MIchael likes it..It can not win. Please help. Let me just say it was perfect, all of it.

Okay, so the plan was to attend the wedding of the year, the Howell/Rushing wedding near Memphis. The bride is Val and the groom is Jeff. I went to a small Christian college which I will call Union Univ. At Union, I had many roommates including Jenny and Leeanne and several more. Upstairs lived a girl named Val (the bride). Next door lived Jenny R who married Steven R (who was Jeffs best friend). Note: didn't know Steven or Jeff in college). Moved to Atlanta, meet Jeff. He quickly becomes a good friend and trivia team member roughly about 8 months ago. I say 8 months, because our first meeting was 5 days before his first date with Val. Needless to say, it was wonderful for hubby and I to have a new friend in Atlanta, plus we had college in common.

Friday, we left after my Certified Pediatric Nurse review course and went to Sara house in Jackson. To confuse you more, Sara was Vals roommie in college. Anyway, we ate pizza and watched tv and then we crashed. Saturday was crazy, slept late, had to finish the wedding gift (will explain after bride and groom get back) and get a new shirt. Michael and I headed to Millington to have lunch with Jenny, Leeanne and children. It was so nice to sit and talk to them and share memories and such. Jennys hubby took a pic so I will share when it gets back. The other issue of the weekend was to collect pics for the adoption dossier. We need lots of pics with other people in the back and worked on this as well. So we had lunch and then Michael and I and Kevin and Jenny went to the wedding and reception.

Guys, this was the most beautiful, loving ceremony ever..Everyone says this but Jeff and Val and so meant for each other and so in love. I have been exchanging emails and blog posts with various members of Jeffs family and it was great to see all of them. To be a part of this was amazing and there were memories I will remember forever. Ceremony was short and totally to the point..Walk over to the reception and see Steven who once again, I really didn't know in college. Went on a spring break missions trip once, but thats it..Awesome guy and I do remember what a great sense of humor he has. I find him and I am like where is your wife? Jenny has always been special to me. She was a roommate of mine one summer. Supersweet and just a beautiful person. She is also a pediatric nurse and we had lots to talk about. I really thought I was still in college. Then I see Tracy, one of Vals best friends? Guess what? She was also a roomie. Jenny, Tracy and I all started Union together.

Well, eventually, the new hubby and wife had to leave. It appeared the limo was following us after they left, but I am sure thats not what happened. Truly a good time was had by all.

Got back to Jackson and had dinner with Sara, shani, saras cousin at O'Charleys. A fave of mine in college. We then got a few happy drinks and watched some movies. We watched Last Holiday with Queen Latifah (actually very good) and That thing you do which I had never seen. Went to bed late, which means woke up late..I am glad Jeff and Val got married the day they did as they got to sleep in an extra hour.

Sara has 2 dogs now..Pepsi (a large rat) and Bernard (a homeless puppy who looks like a St. Bernard). I will try to post a pic..More stories and pics to come later.

Amy

the wedding

Todays the day.
